About Lisa
I’m a freelance photographer currently based in South Florida. My work encompasses documentary, editorial, travel and environmental portrait photography.
After studying editorial journalism at San Diego State and a very brief career, I found my passion and started freelancing as a photographer for a small community newspaper. Shortly after, I moved to Florida, where I worked at a daily newspaper and continued freelancing. During this time, I photographed news, social and sporting events, businesses, weddings, families/babies/pets and products.
In 2009, I followed my other dream and joined the Peace Corps. Assigned to a small village in Armenia, I worked on health and HIV-related projects for four years. Returning to the US, I received my MPH in Global Health from the University of South Florida and began working at a small NGO focused on reducing HIV and substance use in the community.
I now strive to combine my passion for photography with my love of travel (both near and far) and the desire to connect with others. As a result, my main focus is photographing social issues, community projects, and helping small business grow by telling and sharing their story through photography.
